Our Favorite “DATE NIGHT” class!

 Metal roses have always been one of our favorite projects.
Absolutely no experience necessary- this is technically the easiest project we have to offer, yet one of the most fun and engaging. You’ll work to forge out the pedals and stem, learn to taper the end of the stem, get a little hands on with a MIG welder, and meticulously craft your rose.
I know what you’re thinking “I can’t make that look good, mine’s going to look terrible”- NO WAY!
We start with some precision, laser cut parts- and the entirety of the project is “Making it organic” (meticulously screwing up every part!).
My 90 year old grandmother (who’s name is Rose!) pulled it off, so you can too!

This is a more “project oriented” class then the bottle openers. We skip the chatting about tools, the history of forging, and the “how to buy an anvil” portion of things and get our hands dirty swinging some hammers and screwing up some otherwise nice pieces of metal (Wait, I meant “Making them organic”!). This is a fun one, join us!

THIS CLASS IS PER PERSON, NOT PER COUPLE! We get plenty of individuals that attend. If you’ve got two people that want to come, you need to sign up for two spots!

This class was traditionally run as a 4 student class but if you’d like to book a private session with up to 8 students- we can! Each student will make one metal rose, which can be made free standing or straight stemmed to add to a bouquet. THIS CLASS tends to run around 3 hours long lately due to better equipment and shop layout at the new space. Plan for 4 hours…. but don’t be surprised if we finish in 3. Don’t worry- we’ve made it MORE engaging!

All students must be at least 18 years of age and fit enough to swing a 2lb hammer.
WE DO NOT OFFER ANY CLASSES TO MINORS (It’s an insurance thing…)

Classes will take place at production blacksmithing studio in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Additional information will be emailed to those who sign up, usually one to two days before the class.

PRIVATE CLASSES

Want to schedule a private class for your group or event beyond the scope of what’s seen here?

Private classes typically involve 4 people, but with creativity we can host up to 8 for this class.
Weekday classes are billed at a 4 student minimum rate (1-4 people) ($500 total, and $125 for each student beyond 4)
Weekend classes are billed at an 8 student minimum rate (1-8 people) ($1000 total, and $125 for each student beyond 8)
This applies to classes with less students, that’s just the minimums we need to get to run a class and cover our costs.

Sometimes we will allow a 1-4 student private rose class to occur at the 4 student rate on a weekend, based on weekend availability.
